Michelle Ridley serves as Treasurer on the Board of The African-Atlantic Genealogical Society (TAAGS), where she plays a critical role in safeguarding the financial health and strategic direction of the organization. With over two decades of experience in accounting and financial management, Michelle brings both precision and passion to her work, ensuring that TAAGS operates with the highest standards of transparency, fiscal responsibility, and compliance.

Her responsibilities include managing budgets, preparing, and analyzing financial statements, overseeing audits, and ensuring full compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations. She skillfully translates complex financial data into clear, actionable insights, providing critical support for strategic decision-making. Michelle is also responsible for tracking donations and grant funding, aligning financial operations with nonprofit standards, and reinforcing internal controls.

Before joining TAAGS, Michelle worked extensively in the accounting field, contributing her expertise to numerous CPA firms and private accounting offices. Her commitment to accuracy, clarity, and continuous improvement has made her a trusted leader in financial stewardship.

Michelle is deeply committed to helping TAAGS gain broader recognition for its important work in preserving and honoring African heritage and Black History. She believes that strong financial management is foundational to an organization’s ability to make a lasting impact.

Outside of her professional life, Michelle enjoys coaching and watching sports, and she brings the same discipline, strategy, and teamwork from the field into her leadership role.
