Joyce L. Nolan

JOYCE L. NOLAN is a 45-year resident of Uniondale, New York. She is a native of Little Rock, Arkansas and relocated with her family to Hempstead, NY in 1964.

She retired from Nassau BOCES in August 2023, after serving in the capacity as the first full-time District Clerk for the Board.

Prior to working at Nassau BOCES, Ms. Nolan served as District Secretary of the Uniondale Fire District. She has also worked for top rated law firms concentrating in the areas of: Trust and Estates, Elder Care, Real Estate Litigation and Matrimonial and Family Law.  She also worked at Nassau Community College as the Administrative Assistant for the Vice President of Academic Student Services and for the Dean of Students.

Presently, Ms. Nolan is the District Clerk for the Board of the Uniondale Public Library on a part-time basis.

Ms. Nolan’s current volunteer work 2nd Vice President of The African Atlantic Genealogical Society Inc. (“TAAGS”), Union Baptist Church’s Senior Connection and is very involved with civic organizations in her Uniondale community.

She is a former member of the Industry Advisory Board for the Uniondale Union Free School District and Kiwanis United Uniondale.

Ms. Nolan is a member of Union Baptist Church of Hempstead and currently serves on the Women’s Ministry.

Ms. Nolan was educated in the Hempstead Public School system graduating a year early from Hempstead High School. Ms. Nolan holds many accreditations, including an Excellence in Entrepreneurship Certificate from Farmingdale State College, Certificate of Completion for Class 5 Fire Safety Director from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, a Certificate in Computer Programming from New York University, a Certificate in Real Estate Sales and Appraisals from Pace University and an associate degree from Briarcliffe College.

In memory of her loving daughter, Alana Clarissa McClinton, she founded “For the Love of Alana,” a not-for-profit organization which gives annual scholarships to graduating “medically challenged” Uniondale High School students who aspires to further their education. As President of “For the Love Alana,” Ms. Nolan advocates for individuals suffering from Sickle Cell Anemia Disease and continues to promote Sickle Cell Anemia Awareness.
